Jalen and I first met in college at Hardin-Simmons University. Jalen lived in the same house as my cousins Colton and Austin. During the spring semester, we both played on the same intramural basketball team. We often played 1 on 1 against each other. Jalen says he let me beat him so I would like him, but I'm not so sure I believe that! Our first date was at the drive-in movie theatre in Abilene. The rest is history. I can say pretty confidently that I knew Jalen was the man I would marry about one month into dating. I have always heard that you will know when you've found "the one," and that statement was so true for me!

Jalen set a pretty high standard for all engagements after ours! We were in Cabo with both of our parents. We took a sunset cruise our first night there. Each couple went up to the front of the boat to take pictures (One of our friends actually fell off the boat during these pictures). Jalen and I were up last. He played the song “Marry me” by Train and got down on one knee. It was the perfect scenario. I am a lucky woman!
