Rock City Gardens

Rock City Gardens is a scenic tourist attraction located atop Lookout Mountain near Chattanooga, Tennessee. Known for its dramatic rock formations, lush botanical gardens, and panoramic views, it has been a regional landmark since opening to the public in 1932. Its “See Rock City” barn advertisements became iconic symbols of American roadside culture. Rock City spans roughly 14 acres of pathways winding through narrow rock passages, natural arches, and 400 species of native plants. Highlights include Balanced Rock, Fat Man’s Squeeze, and Lover’s Leap, a cliff offering a clear-day vista said to encompass seven U.S. states. The gardens’ design blends natural geology with ornamental landscaping for year-round appeal.

Ruby Falls

Ruby Falls is the tallest and deepest underground waterfall open to the public in the United States. Take a guided Classic Waterfall Tour, Lantern Tour or Extended Cavern Experience Tour along the scenic cavern trail to the breathtaking waterfall. See ancient geological formations, millions of years in the making, and learn about the cave's storied history. Enjoy extensive views of the Tennessee Valley, Cumberland Plateau and the Tennessee River from scenic overlooks and Lookout Mountain Tower. Aretha Frankensteins

If you have time for breakfast or brunch, this is a must! Aretha Frankenstein’s is a local favorite known for its cozy, laid-back vibe and giant, fluffy pancakes (seriously… they’re huge 😭). It’s the perfect spot for a casual morning, especially if you’re looking for something unique and very “Chattanooga.” Heads up: It can get busy, so going early is always a good idea! Trust us… the pancakes are worth it 🤭🥞

Bluff View Art District

Bluff View centers on the visual arts. River Gallery showcases regional and national artists, while the two-acre River Gallery Sculpture Garden—recognized by the International Sculpture Center and the Smithsonian’s Archives of American Gardens—features outdoor works set among formal and informal gardens, a meditation space, and a small stream. Rembrandt’s Coffee House roasts its own beans on-site and serves pastries, sandwiches, and desserts; Bluff View Bakery supplies fresh artisan bread to the restaurants. Tony’s Pasta Shop & Trattoria and other eateries offer Italian-inspired and seasonal menus.
