Jakob and Sophie met how a lot of modern day couples meet, they met online. They matched with each other on a dating app and started talking on there. After about a week of talking, Jakob asked Sophie if he could take her on a date. There was only one problem....she was set to leave for France the next day for four months! They both thought this would be the end of their connection, but instead they continued to talk the whole four months while she was overseas. They would stay up late/early to talk to each other everyday, filling one another in about their days and their likings. Jakob and Sophie got to know each other pretty well over those four months. When Sophie finally returned home late December in 2019, Jakob asked her on a date, this time face to face. They went on the most amazing first date on New Year's Eve. Jakob asked Sophie to marry him August 16, 2023 on their trip to the Boundary Waters. She of course said yes.
