It was in the small college town of Blacksburg, VA that Jakob first caught Jenna’s eye in BIT 3434. As a bouncer at Jenna’s favorite college spot, Top of the Stairs, Jakob was a notable classmate! Jenna was always entertained when Jakob sauntered into class, and fell asleep after working late nights, sometimes even snapping a pic or two to her friends of her handsome but sleeping classmate. The semester progressed in a similar fashion until one fateful day in March 2016. On Roanoke Street Jenna spent the evening with her girlfriends, prepping her hair, makeup, and outfit for the night. While Jakob threw on a pair of gray sweatpants to go study at the library. Studying didn’t last long and Jakob decided TOTs was a better choice. As the night wore on, Jenna spotted her classmate sitting out on the back deck of TOTs. Imbibed with a special kind of confidence, Jenna approached Jakob and started a conversation, having no idea how long it would last. Jenna and Jakob have been inseparable ever since. For the next year and a half, they could always be seen together at TOTs, in their classes (Jenna now poking Jakob to keep him awake), or walking around campus with their new fur baby, Nala. Just like Jenna’s parents and other Hokies before them, Jenna and Jakob fell deeply in love among the Hokie stone landscape. Graduation from Virginia Tech came and went and soon after, Jenna and Jakob packed their bags and moved to Arlington, Virginia, each to begin their careers.

On March 31, 2018, Jakob asked Jenna to join him for an early breakfast and a walk through downtown. He planned the perfect spot: a pretty, little island at Constitution Gardens in Washington, D.C. As the willow trees swayed & the cherry blossoms fluttered to the ground, Jakob nervously dropped to one knee and asked Jenna to be his beautiful wife. With no hesitation, Jenna said yes and Jakob slipped a diamond on Jenna’s finger. A fateful day yet again, but now their two histories will continue as one!
