Travel Note
For all of our NYC peeps, the easiest way to get to Reading is probably the bus operated by OurBus. The route runs directly from Hudson Yards (11th Ave and 35th St) to Downtown Reading and will drop you off on Penn Street two blocks from the Doubletree Hotel.
Train
Reading was a major rail hub for most of its history. These days, however, the closest you can get by train is either Lancaster, Philadelphia, or anywhere in between on the "Main Line" in towns like Coatesville or Downingtown. From any of those stops the drive to Reading is between 45 minutes to an hour and a half. If you take the train into Philadelphia there are also buses than run to Downtown Reading.
Flight
Flying into PHL? Once you land in the city of brotherly love, there are a few options: Take the bus that runs directly from PHL to Downtown Reading operated by OurBus. Picks you up from the airport and drops you off two blocks from the Doubletree Hotel. https://www.ourbus.com/routes/philadelphia-pa-to-reading-pa You can also drive or ride directly from PHL to Reading. Driving time from Philly to Reading is roughly an hour and a half via either 76W or 422W. If the bus is not your thing but you also want a shorter ride, take the train to Lancaster or one of the stops along the Main Line then drive or ride from there.
Flight
Flying into the capital of our illustrious Commonwealth instead of Philly? Harrisburg can be an easier flight and is typically a shorter drive to Reading with less traffic. You can drive or ride from Harrisburg to Reading via 76E to 222N or take a more scenic route through Lancaster via 283E and then continue on to 272N or 222N. You can also ride the train from Harrisburg to Lancaster and then drive or ride to Reading.
