Greetings, all, welcome to our wedding website! Here you will find all you need to know about us, our celebration, our registry and anything else pertaining to Elizabeth, Jake, our wedding, or us!

Elizabeth hails from Farmingdale, New York. Growing up she competed in swimming competitions and enjoyed dancing. After finishing school, Elizabeth continued her love of swimming by becoming a lifeguard and swimming instructor. Here, she became head coach of a middle school team and led them to a perfect 9 for 9 winning season. After COVID hit, Elizabeth traded her swimming life for a job with an Independent Medical Examination Company, where she is an office favourite. Jake originates from Essex, United Kingdom. Growing up he loved playing with Lego (and still does) as well as enjoying trips to the cinema and London. Jake studied history at university and after graduating, he landed his dream job by becoming a Civil Servant in the Cabinet Office. After a successful bout in Cabinet Office, Jake secured a new job in 2021 working for the Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy, where he helps to ensure the department plans for and responds to energy crises.

We met at Surprise Lake Camp (Cold Spring, NY) during the Summer of 2018. At the time, Elizabeth was a swimming coach and lifeguard (and a great one at that), while Jake had just finished university. It was clear to us both early on that something special was brewing. Camp ended and life returned to normal with Jake heading off to travel California and Elizabeth returning to work in New York. In a surprise twist, Jake extended his trip so he could fly back to New York where he asked Elizabeth to be his girlfriend on September 15th, 2018.

T’was the night before the 24th July, 2021, and we were celebrating our three year anniversary early. After a home cooked meal and reminiscing about the highlights of the last three years together, Jake asked Elizabeth to wait upstairs while he prepared an anniversary surprise, little did Elizabeth know he was preparing to propose! Jake got to work, decorating the room with lights, faux candles and a slideshow of pictures and memories over the last three years. When the room was ready (and a few deep breaths later) Jake called Elizabeth down and, well, the rest as they say, is history!

Our wedding means so much more to us than becoming husband and wife. As we come from different countries, our marriage allows us to live in the same country together forever! This is something we have not been able to do for the last 1662 days we have been together (September 15th 2018 - April 8th 2023). We are so excited to be starting our life together and we are so happy to be celebrating with you!
