Jake's Version It all started with a shared slice of pizza and a direct message on Instagram. Little did we know that this casual interaction would blossom into a love story. Our first date was at Zack’s Oak Bar and Restaurant, where we had espresso martinis and I remember really wanting to make a great first impression with this beautiful blue eyed girl. Our first few dates were frequent as we explored the various charming spots around Hoboken - Antique Bar and Bakery, Otto Strada, Olivia’s, and Saku. So many locations around our city hold special memories. It wasn't long before we decided to make our relationship official, over margaritas on Cinco de Mayo at the Madison. Memorial Day weekend marked a significant milestone in our relationship, as Jess came down the shore to meet my parents and friends. Instantly, it became evident that she fit right in with the people I hold dearest. Her radiant warmth and genuine nature won everyone over, solidifying her place in my heart. The months flew by, almost as if time had no bearing on us. Jess had quickly become my best friend. We shared countless new experiences, from trying out new restaurants in Hoboken to attending sporting events, particularly Yankees games. Her competitive spirit made her the perfect pickleball partner, and her infectious laugh complemented my dry sense of humor perfectly, even managing to make me laugh in return. One of the many things I adore about Jess is her unique blend of organized chaos. She has it all together, but at the same time is spontaneous, bubbly, and exuberant. Her drive and ambition constantly challenge me to be a better version of myself. She was the driving force behind my first trip to Europe, and together, we have now traveled to France, Croatia, and Portugal. I eagerly look forward to the many life adventures that lie ahead. Jessica, you are my best friend, the love of my life, and the best (pickleball) partner I could ever wish for. We can't wait to celebrate with our closest family and friends in August 2025! Jessica's Version Our love story starts at 10th & Willow in Hoboken on a Saturday night in February 2022, when we first crossed paths while out with our respective friends. Surrounded by friends and a crowded bar, we shared a few glances and brief hellos, but nothing more. As fate would have it, one week later, I found myself running into Jake again, this time grabbing a late-night slice of pizza at The Brick (as one does living in Hoboken). Remembering me from the week before, Jake asked me to sit with him to have our slices where we ended up talking for over an hour. I remember thinking he was funny, charming, and handsome. The next day, on my frequent Sunday walk-and-talk with my friend and now Maid of Honor, I told her about running into Jake. I remember telling her, “I think he was flirting with me?!" That Monday, I received a message from Jake on Instagram. After a few messages, he asked me out, and our first official date was set for Thursday at Zack's in Hoboken. And, the rest is history. From our first date, I knew Jake was special. I could tell immediately how much he loved his family and friends, which I admired. I also loved his love for sports and competition, something we both have in common. On October 5th, 2024, Jake orchestrated the most perfect surprise proposal in our beloved Hoboken. I thought we were going to brunch with friends, but it turned into an intimate moment just for us, followed by an unforgettable surprise celebration with our loved ones. We stayed up celebrating until 1 am, completely on cloud nine. It's a testament to how well Jake knows me and how thoughtful he is. Jake, you are the love of my life. I am so grateful for the beautiful home and life we’ve built together the past three years. And, I’m even more grateful I decided to grab that slice of pizza that one night. I am so excited for this next chapter and adventure of our lives together with endless pizza dates!
