We crossed paths several times around productions of the Nauvoo Pageant & Savior of the World… but didn’t properly meet until the summer of 2022, when we were cast as onstage husband & wife in the Nauvoo Pageant. We spent that summer, and several months following becoming friends. In February 2023 we started dating… and the rest, as they say, is history :)

Susan was in Nauvoo performing in the pageant there, and Jake was in Utah prepping to go to England to be in the British pageant. Little did Susan know that for months Jake had planned to make a detour to Nauvoo on his journey across the pond… (the first of two very big surprises he had planned for that weekend) After Jake’s surprise appearance in Nauvoo, he recruited Susan’s family & some friends to help set the scene. Right behind the pageant site, they set a bouquet of Nauvoo wildflowers and then hid around the stage with cameras. On the grassy hill behind the stage, overlooked by the temple, Jake got down on one knee… and as soon as Susan remembered how to talk, she very happily said yes :) We're so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you!
