Jake started at the University of Minnesota in the fall of 2016 and began coming to parties at St. Thomas with friends he had known from high school. Jake and I hit it off but nothing became of it, until U of M Spring Jam in 2017. Our first "unofficial" date was the Spring Jam A$AP Ferg and Jon Bellion concert, where we rode the ferris wheel and ended up talking for hours at O’Gara’s bar in St. Paul. Jake asked me out on an official first date that night.

Blackstack brewery in St. Paul was where Jake had suggested for our first official date 5 days later! Jake had been to this brewery and many other breweries before, but this date was my first time at a brewery. The obsession began… with breweries and each other. ;)

Our shared passion for traveling, our education/careers and good beer set us up for endless memories together! We enjoyed our time living in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area the first 3 years together, visiting most (if not all!) of the area breweries, spending countless hours studying together, and experiencing all that the cities have to offer. We fit in a few trips together between classes and found each other to be great travel buddies. Covid proved that we were more then just travels buddies, we were companions for life! We moved to Forest Lake after school and added our pride and joy, Rocky, our fur baby (cat), to our little family.

Aloha Brewery in Honolulu, Hawaii is where Jake proposed 3 days into our Hawaii vacation. We had been to that brewery earlier in the trip and it was our favorite by far. (Jake had bought a t-shirt the first time we visited and happened to be wearing it when he proposed 2 days later, not planned haha!) The Tuesday night we went back was very busy, so we ended up sitting on a bench overlooking the street to grab a quick beer. It was the perfect moment, just the two of us, when Jake proposed and I said yes!
