We first met at a party where we shared mutual friends, but had never officially met each other. Instantly we started chatting with one another across a room full of people. Jake shared his dreams of becoming a police officer once he finished his education at Fox Valley Technical College. Sarah explained that she was beginning to apply to different programs through Marian University for the Radiologic Technology program. We exchanged smiles and more conversations the rest of the night between going back to our friends and asking about the other. It was truly love and first sight.
Our first official date was 2 days after we first met. Jake messaged Sarah through Facebook to get her number. He proceed to ask her to go for a bicycle ride in town. After a few more text messages were exchanged Jake made sure Sarah had a helmet and a location to meet at. Sarah not thinking anything of it because he was a police officer in training and with putting safety safety first meant wearing a helmet. Little did Jake know Sarah thought he was talking about a pedal bicycle. Sarah asked Jake how she was supposed to fit her bicycle in her car to meet him. He told her he had a MOTORCYCLE and there was no need to bring her bike. To this day this story still has us busting a gut. Jake drove Sarah on his motorcycle to Kelley's Cremery for ice cream. (Bonus points because little did Jake know at the time that ice cream was Sarah's most favorite thing).
Jake proposed on December 29th 2017 in their first apartment together. Just 3 days before their 3 year anniversary.
