We first crossed paths thanks to a last-minute college visit that almost didn’t happen - shoutout to Allie Nelson for showing Sara around Kansas on a random Tuesday night, and to Drew Shepherd for dragging his roommate (Jake) out of his room to hang with the new volleyball recruit! A few months later, Sara officially transferred to KU and ran into Jake at a bar (The Hawk, of course). We instantly hit it off… just in time for Jake to graduate and Sara to head out on a volleyball trip to Europe. Despite the timing, we kept talking, and not long after, Jake came back to visit Kansas with one goal: don’t leave with a girlfriend. Safe to say, things didn’t go as planned. After two and a half years of long distance (including nine months apart during border closures), we reunited in beautiful British Columbia with our dog Koda. In 2024, we moved to London to start a new adventure, and now, after six years together, we’re so excited to begin the next chapter: marriage!
