A classic love story of two kids at a Jewish summer camp. Rachel and Jake grew up going to Eisner Camp in Great Barrington, MA, and even had some mutual friends, but they never connected and barely spoke. Years later when they were college students, they had both returned to work a summer at Eisner. When a dear mutual friend Nate connected them, they hit it off immediately and started talking every day. Each evening, they would take long walks around the camp and just chat, admiring the stars. Jake started bringing Rachel SoCo ice cream when it was her turn to stay with the campers, and 'proposed' to her with a ring pop on the 4th of July. They decided to keep dating after camp ended, and continued a long distance relationship through college.
When Jake asked Rachel to go on a special vacation in Aruba, she was immediately suspicious of an upcoming proposal. They happily planned a relaxing beach vacation together - their first big trip together! Jake told Rachel that he had made reservations at a 'very special' restaurant for Saturday evening, their 4th night away. Rachel convinced her friend Hannah to casually invite her to get her nails done the week before, and picked out a dress for Saturday. How surprising that over a private dinner on the second night in Aruba, Jake knelt down and pulled out a ring! "I couldn't wait," he said to Rachel, who was so excited that she could hardly eat. Despite offers of romantic pictures to commemorate the event, Rachel and Jake just wanted time together and left their shrimp cocktail on the table untouched.
