Jake and Manisha were brought together by the classic, modern love story of online dating. In fact, it was through Okcupid that Jake asked the question that started it all... “do you like to read?” To which Manisha replied absolutely. After what seemed like forever to Jake (it was six weeks) of exchanging messages, Manisha agreed to meet in person. Their first date was at a bar in San Francisco called Steins. The date went well (obviously) and when they left, they walked down the street together, Jake thinking he was escorting her home, Manisha thinking it was on the way to his car. After a few blocks Manisha asked where he parked, and when he replied a block they had passed, it clicked. It was then Manisha revealed that she was about a 30 min walk away. They shared a laugh and the story took off from there.
After months of pestering Jake, Manisha got her wish and their apartment of two grew to three with the addition of Luna, a ten-year old cat who loves to sleep in the sun, chirp at birds and rub her face on everything. But Luna’s most import role, (besides bringing joy to Jake and Manisha’s life) took place in December 2018 when she helped facilitate the proposal. With a note and the ring carefully attached to her collar, she had a very important question to ask Manisha for Jake. Once Manisha wrangled Luna, she read the note that said “Will you marry my cat dad?” Manisha was so overjoyed she almost forgot to say yes.
