Five years ago Maggie had just moved into a house in Denver conveniently located a few blocks away from Graham and Nick Ward — two disorderly neighbors and, also, Jake’s brothers. That year, Maggie and her new roommates elected to host a Christmas party. Invitations were circulated, including the ill-advised decision to invite Graham and Nick, who promptly extended the invitation to all 28 (an exaggeration, but close) of their roommates, and to Jake. Jake arrived late, and Maggie met him at the door. He was immediately smitten by her charitable gift of lukewarm peppermint schnapps (to a stranger!). Maggie took one look at his sartorial choice of skin-tight jeans and matching jacket and had made up her mind. They talked and danced together all night and both decided that a proper date was in order. Over the five years since, their relationship has grown in beautiful and unsuspecting ways. They bonded over skiing, and camping trips across the southwest, cross-country roadtrips in a hand-me-down convertible Mini Cooper, traveling across France in a wee-little clown car (a theme, perhaps), and, maybe especially, over cooking good food together for family and friends. After Maggie *triumphantly* finished her nursing degree, they decided to move to the small town of Carbondale, Colorado, where they live with their super-mutt dog, Betty, and wonderfully close to family. Maggie and Jake are so excited to share their vows with each other and celebrate their marriage surrounded by those they love most.
