We love your kids—we really do, but we want our wedding to be your night off!
YES!!! Passports are required to get into Mexico. The Real Id WILL NOT Work.
Most restaurants / bars, stores and hotels take credit / debit cards along with American money. If you do charge items to your credit or debit cards, make sure you ask them to charge you in pesos, as you will get a better exchange rate from your bank. Be sure to contact your bank to let them know you are traveling out of the country so they don't freeze your card.
Pesos are great to have for taxi's, tipping and all of the fun items you can purchase from vendors on the beach! Do NOT exchange money at the San Jose Del Cabo Airport ! For the best exchange rate you can either get money out in advance at your bank or you can get money out at the Pesos ATM inside Costco in Cabo San Lucas.
It is completely up to you! Our hope for hosting a destination wedding in Cabo is that you will make a vacation out of it. Some hotels and timeshares require a 4 night minimum and if you decide to stay a week some hotels require stays from Thursday - Thursday. There are regular hotels that do not require a week stay and are more flexible with dates. The majority of our family and bridal party will be staying Thursday, May 4th - Thursday, May 11th.
We're in Mexico and we're at the beach! Beach cocktail wedding attire: Gentlemen - please wear your most festive Mexico / tropical collard shirt (short sleeve collared shirts okay), linen pants or shorts. Ladies - summer / tropical beach cocktail dresses. We will be in the sand, heels are not recommended and shoes are optional!
Most cell phone carriers have unlimited and free calls and texts in Mexico. However, to be sure you are not charged with international data and roaming charges please contact your carrier. All hotels do have wireless internet, so you will be able to connect to Wifi to text or email. You can also download Whatsapp to your phone for free international texting.
