A serendipitous meeting at Trivia Night at Half Batch Brewing on a Thursday in July. Where Jake was set to meet an online date and I was set to grab a beer and head home to my parents to house sit. But fate and God had other plans. Just as I was about to head home for the night, in walked Thais and Bruce - two former coworkers of mine in the ED at Saint Thomas - and tagging along was Thais's little brother, Jake. Despite having worked with both Thais and Bruce for 3 years in the ED, I had no idea Thais had a little brother. I ended up staying that night to play trivia, Jake's date never showed, and a few weeks later Jake and I would go on our first date!

We set off on vacation to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter. Jake and I found a shared love of Harry Potter so we couldn't wait to go to the Wizarding World together. After a long day of rides and exploring all things HP, Jake and I ended up at Hogs Head Tavern - with the Hogwarts Castle in view and a beer in our hands (which was only fitting since we met over beer at a brewery trivia night). And it was here that he asked me to marry him. The best part of this story - Jake had been taking my grandmothers very antique, very special, very sentimental ring in and out of his pocket and ride lockers ALL day long without me noticing and without losing it - I still can't believe he did that!
