Question

Dress code?

Answer

Beach formal - The dress code is very relaxed compared to your typical wedding attire! This can be light colored linen or cotton suits, light blazers, button down with trousers, flowy maxi dresses, pastels - you name it! Light, airy and breathable attire is encouraged. Suits/formal dresses are NOT required ***TIP FOR THE LADIES***The ceremony will be on grass so keep that in mind stiletto lovers!!

Question

How do I get there?

Answer

To join us for our special day, we recommend flying into Juan Santamaría International Airport (SJO), located in Alajuela. It is the closest international airport to our wedding venue in Playa Herradura, approximately 1.5 hours away by car. From the airport, you have a couple of convenient options to reach the venue: -Rent a car – a great choice if you'd like to explore more of Costa Rica at your own pace. -Book private transportation – perfect if you prefer a relaxing, hassle-free ride. You can do this through Viator or we have some private services. This will come as a first come first serve basis, but a highly family known recommendation for a private ride is an option. This contact has a team of drivers waiting for you. Please see below for our drivers information (fully bilingual!): On WhatsApp: Robert Rubio (506) 8619-0110 Robertrubio88@hotmail.com Vipcrtours@hotmail.com

Question

How should I prepare for the weather?

Answer

February is one of the best months to visit Costa Rica! It’s the dry season on the Pacific coast, which means you can expect plenty of sunshine, warm temperatures, and little to no rain — perfect for a beach celebration! Daytime temperatures typically range between 82–90°F, while evenings are comfortably warm. We recommend packing light, breathable clothing, swimwear, sunscreen, a hat, and comfortable shoes for exploring or dancing the night away. Even though rain is unlikely, a light layer or shawl for breezy nights can come in handy. Get ready to soak up the sun and enjoy the pura vida vibes!

Question

How many days should I book my room?

Answer

This is your vacation too, and we truly hope you take time to soak in the beauty of Costa Rica! While you’re welcome to stay for as long (or as little) as you'd like, the key dates to keep in mind are February 6th – 8th. We’ll be kicking things off with a Welcome Dinner on Friday, February 6th at 6:00 PM, and we’d love to see you there! But no worries at all if you can’t make it. The wedding ceremony will be on Saturday, February 7th at 5:00 PM, so we kindly ask that you arrive before then to join us for the most special part of the weekend.

Question

Should I bring cash/ does everywhere take credit card?

Answer

Most places, especially resorts will take credit card, however we encourage everyone to bring cash to Costa Rica as there will be some places that only take cash! Especially if you want to buy souvenirs, stop at small local restaurants, use cash for tipping, etc. We encourage you to order foreign currency at your bank prior to the trip (Costa Rican Colones), but you can also just bring US cash as most places take cash as well.

Question

Where should I look to stay elsewhere in the area?

Answer

Things to know about accommodations: While our ceremony and celebration will be held at the beautiful Los Sueños Resort, please know that you're absolutely welcome to stay wherever feels best for you! There are plenty of wonderful Airbnb options and hotels nearby—especially great if you're traveling with a group and want a shared space. Anywhere in the Playa Herradura, Jaco, or Playa Hermosa areas will keep you close to the festivities and let you enjoy the best of this gorgeous part of Costa Rica. There are several options for airbnbs in and around the Los Suenos property. Some options are below: -Google "Arenas" in Playa Herradura/Punta Leona - this is a neighborhood with beautiful condos and houses to rent -On the Los Suenos property there are several condos and individual houses. If you type "Los Suenos" Costa Rica on Airbnb these options will come up -Playa Hermosa has great bungalows for rent, right on the beach!

Question

Safety Tips and Information - PLEASE READ

Answer

Costa Rica is a warm, welcoming country, and the locals are incredibly kind. As with any destination, especially in busy areas, it’s always good to stay aware and take simple precautions to keep your trip smooth and enjoyable. A few helpful tips: Avoid wearing flashy jewelry or designer items, especially when exploring downtown Jacó. Keep your valuables secure—either with you or stored safely at your accommodations. Stay aware of your surroundings, particularly at night or when out in downtown Jacó. Pickpocketing can happen in crowded areas, so just stay alert to anything that feels out of place. These are common travel best-practices and nothing to stress about—we just want everyone to feel comfortable and enjoy the celebration to the fullest!
