Even now, we make it a point to go up north to Black Lake every year—though I have to admit, Craig’s fishing skills leave a lot to be desired.

Pat is my oldest friend, and we’ve known each other since high school. We spent countless summers together at Lollapalooza, which Pat famously renamed Jake-a-palooza. These days, we love getting out on his boat whenever I can get up to Michigan.

Kevin and I met as move-in buddies during college. I convinced him to come to a frat rush event with me, mostly for the free food since we were both broke. We’ve come a long way since those days, but we still make time to play video games together every week—though we’re definitely not winning any tournaments.

Wei and I first crossed paths at a college fraternity rush event when he showed up dressed as an angry bird. He spent the night running around and screaming, which made quite an impression. Despite slowing down a lot since those college days, we still make time to go camping every year.

Jakob and I became good friends in college after meeting at a Lambda party, where he was dressed as Maverick from Top Gun—a look he still brings up all the time. Nowadays, he’s traded in the Maverick costume for a habit of adopting stray animals that show up on his doorstep.

Kevin is Kelsey’s oldest brother, and we bonded watching a jam band in Gloucester with a crowd of older folks. It was one of those moments that perfectly sums up Kevin’s laid-back vibe.
