Jake ended up training Kaya on her first day of work at Wendy's. These two couldn't stop laughing while cleaning the trays that first day. The next day Jake came in while Kaya was working and handed her his number on his receipt (rumor has it that Kaya still has the receipt). They ended up talking all night and made plans for their first date the following weekend.

Jake and Kaya planned a lovely creek date near Sugarloaf, west of Boulder. It is one of their favorite ways to spend time together while Jake fishes and Kaya reads. After hiking up the creek Jake waited till Kaya was distracted to pull a tripod out of his flyrod case and set up his phone. Then he got on one knee in the water and asked Kaya if she would be his forever.
