We Got Married!

Welcome to our wedding website. We’re so excited to share this special chapter of our lives with you. For a long time, we went back and forth between having a traditional wedding celebration with family and friends or keeping things private and intimate. We know many of you expressed your excitement, love, and desire to celebrate alongside us, and we are incredibly grateful for that support. After taking everything into consideration, we ultimately decided to keep our wedding day small, personal, and true to us. On June 10th — the same day we celebrated our 4th anniversary together — we chose to officially begin this next chapter as husband and wife. That morning, we drove to Echo Lake Park in Idaho Springs, Colorado, where we exchanged our vows and promises surrounded by the mountains and peaceful lake views, with Guss and our wonderful photographer, Isabelle, as our witnesses. Afterward, we celebrated with a small picnic filled with some of our favorite foods before driving down to the Broomfield Circuit Court, where we were officially married by Judge Amy. We ended our day sharing a special dinner together at a Japanese restaurant — the perfect ending to a day we will cherish forever. While our ceremony was private, it was incredibly important to us to still share these memories with the people who have loved, supported, and shaped our journey together. To our family and friends: thank you for your endless love, encouragement, and support throughout the years. We are so grateful to have each and every one of you in our lives, and we’re excited to continue this next chapter together as husband and wife. In the gallery, you’ll find some of the highlights and special moments from our wedding day that we’re so excited to share with you.

About Jake

Her partner in every chapter.

Jake was born in Maryland and raised in Florida by Jami and Dov, alongside his three younger siblings, Seth, Lexi, and Kobe. As the oldest of four, he grew up with strong connections to his Jewish roots and beliefs, which helped shape the man and partner he is today. Jake joined the military at eighteen, which gave him the opportunity to live in many parts of the United States, including Washington, North Carolina, Texas, and Hawaii, where he met Jessabeth. He served in the U.S. Army for ten years, first as an infantryman and later as a mental health counselor. If bravery means being willing to grow and start over, Jake embodies it. After making the difficult decision to leave the military, he returned to school and is now a senior pursuing a bachelor’s degree in evolutionary biology with a minor in geology. Excitingly his senior year will also be the first year of his masters degree as he was accepted to an accelerated graduate program that allows him to begin taking advanced courses early. Jake is endlessly curious, with a deep desire to understand how the world works, both scientifically and through the stories of the people around him. This curiosity has allowed him to form meaningful connections wherever life takes him. Through every chapter, Jake has met change with courage, heart, and an unwavering commitment to becoming the best version of himself.

About Jess

His partner in every chapter.

Jessabeth was born in the province of Ilocos Norte in the Philippines and was raised by Nelie and Eulalio. She is the youngest of seven children, with siblings Yolie, Orlando, Isagani, Maryo, Michael, and Allan. At thirteen, Jessabeth moved to Hawaii, where she spent most of her teenage years and young adulthood. With a love for travel, Jessabeth studied hospitality at the University of Hawaii at Mānoa, which gave her the opportunity to visit countries such as Japan, Korea, Taiwan, and Thailand. When COVID changed the course of the world, it also redirected her path toward Human Resources. While she briefly returned to the hospitality field after the pandemic, she soon realized that her passion had truly shifted to HR, where she found fulfillment supporting others and building strong, organized systems. Raised in an immigrant family, Jessabeth has always valued tradition and stability, often found through careful planning and thoughtful decision-making. A proud Type-A, spreadsheet-loving organizer, she brings structure, heart, and a whole lot of love into everything she does, helping keep both her career and her home running smoothly.

How We Met

All the right choices led to this

We met online, and while some might call that “inorganic,” we beg to differ. We matched on Hinge simply because we happened to be in close proximity at the same time, but there were many decisions made long before that moment that quietly led us there. Before Hawaii, Jake had an opportunity to join Special Forces, a path that would have taken him to Colorado. He spent months preparing and interviewing for the position. When it came time to re-enlist, his options were Colorado, something he truly wanted, or Hawaii, a dream destination that at the time felt more like a secondary choice. One evening, he received the call offering him Hawaii and had to make a decision that very night, while Colorado was still still uncertain. Afraid of losing both opportunities, he chose Hawaii. The very next day, he received another call confirming Colorado. Would we have ever met if that call had come first? On Jessabeth’s side, before COVID, she had been selected through a partner university in Japan to intern for the Tokyo 2020 Summer Olympics, with the possibility of continuing on to work in Japan afterward. When the Olympics were postponed to 2021, she could have continued pursuing that same opportunity, but instead, her path shifted, keeping her in Hawaii during that time. What if she had chosen to go to Japan after all? Would our paths have ever crossed? Looking back, every decision we made prior to 2021 slowly moved us closer to one another. And thanks to a little technology, two people with very different backgrounds were finally given the chance to meet. So how did we really meet? After connecting on Hinge, we met in person for the first time at Target. Yes, you read that right. Jess needed a vibe check, and Jake, let’s be honest, was just very eager to meet Jess. Unprompted, on a Thursday afternoon, Jessabeth mentioned needing a Target “mental health day,” and Jake "just so happened" to apparently need a new baking dish (because apparently Seth broke his favorite baking dish, Thanks Seth!). We talked for hours, walking in circles through the aisles. The following weekend, we went on our first official date paddle boarding through the Haleiwa River—and the rest is history.

Guss, the Beagle

Every family has a favorite child... ours just happens to have four legs. Guss officially became the third member of our little family after being born in Missouri on May 9, 2025. He made his grand entrance into our lives just after midnight on July 16, arriving in the middle of a dramatic summer thunderstorm. We were instantly obsessed with the cutest 15-pound beagle puppy we'd ever seen. His first few weeks with us were... an adventure. Between tummy troubles, accidents, and many sleepless nights, Guss made us work for his puppy love. Thankfully, he grew into the sweetest little guy. Like any true beagle, he's always following his nose, convinced every meal belongs to him, and believes every dog he meets is his new best friend. He has the loudest howl, just a tiny bit of separation anxiety, and somehow manages to bring laughter into our home every single day. Life has been so much brighter (and definitely furrier) since Guss came along, and we wouldn't have it any other way.
