Our story began back in 2015. Little did we know being hired as CNA’s at the Saint Croix County Health Center would begin our journey. Jake and I worked together occasionally during the summers and Christmas breaks while he attended U of M. While working a resident was convinced we were a couple while I was pregnant with Stefan. The resident often referred to us as “honey’s” and expressed how happy she was that we had found each other. We would laugh it off and tell her we were indeed happy. (With other people) ...Who knew she would be right! Fast forward to 2017, The stars aligned. Jake started picking up quite a few shifts, which means he got stuck with me more often. The residents and staff loved us as a duo, so we were scheduled together pretty much every night we both worked. Spending long nights working as a team blossomed our relationship. Soon enough Jake started giving me rides to and from work. We would spend hours after work talking and listening to music in his car. A couple weeks later he asked me to finally be his girlfriend! Shortly after dating Jake was accepted to SGU medical school in Grenada. I made the decision to move with my toddler to a Caribbean island thousands of miles away from home to be with Jake. We got to experience so many beautiful things while living on our tiny island. Sadly our time in Grenada was cut short due to Covid. Jake and I were put to the test. We had a little over 3 days to up root our whole lives, pack it into suitcases and leave the country. Fast forward to 2020. We made it back to Wisconsin. Quarantined with the rest of the world. Jake finished his classes Online. We moved to Miami in August. Jake started his clinical rotations. September 18th, On our 3rd anniversary Jake proposed in our living room! We have made it through Long nights at work, parenting our crazy boy, moving countries, medical school,a pandemic and moving across the United States. We cant wait to see what the future holds for us!
