Asheville is a place that’s very special to us, and we’d love to share it with the people we care about most. However, we know that traveling can be difficult or costly, and it will be Father's Day weekend; We want to be clear that there’s no expectation at all. We’re just grateful to have your love and support, wherever you are.

How We Found Our RubyHow We Found Our Ruby

As Seen on Instagram

June 2024 We were on Frankie's birthday trip staying in the mountains of North Carolina, already having an amazing trip, when we decided to go Gem Mining at the Cherokee Ruby and Sapphire Mine. We were hoping to just find a souvenir, but after digging and sifting through multiple buckets, we still hadn't found anything worth keeping. Before giving up, the guy offered us one more bucket, which we dug and filled together. As we sifted through our last bucket of dirt, I found something that would change the trajectory of our lives in a moment. We were in shock, thinking there's no way we just found this Ruby, so we drove down the mountain and brought it to Ruby City - the local gem shop. As soon as they saw it, they knew it was engagement ring material, because the color and size is rare to find. We decided to leave the ruby with them to be cut and polished, and didn't see it again for the rest of the summer. Once the gem was ready, they secretly shipped it to me, and I brought it to a custom jewelry designer to create the ring. I explained my vision, we hand picked the diamonds, and he created a better ring than I could've ever imagined! After months of preparation, we went on "my birthday trip" to Baker's Cay in Key Largo, where I finally had the opportunity to give her the finished product. During the sunset walk to dinner, we stopped out on the dock, and I finally took the knee. She was not only surprised by the ring she didn't think was ready, but also by our families (and dog children) who had secretly checked in. She cried a lot, and we had an amazing weekend! I wouldn't change anything about how the last 6 years worked out, and I know this is what we were waiting for - everything feels right.
