So as most know we met in the gym. Small talk now and again (mainly any time Jake could strategically walk past when Debi might be looking or taking hear earbuds out). It took longer then Debi is willing to admit. Jake finally convinced her to go on a dinner date, where she could eat a salad as this was acceptable while she was dieting. (Debi was always dieting). A second date of paddle boarding took place the next day. Jake didn’t waste any time asking, he was a bit excited she went on the first date. So in his normal fashion he pushed for a 3rd date, you got it the next day. Things went a little array at this point. Debi hit the brakes, the famous quote of of our relationship took place on this day and we will never forget it. " I Think you are more into me then i am into you." We went on from this point just being friends making small talk for about a year. After all this time Debi moves into her Grandfathers Farm house and could use some help of a handy man. Jake offers to help, (not knowing Debi might have had an ulterior motive). After a few days of helping hang pictures, blinds, and curtains Debi had to make things a little more obvious to Jake, opening the door to their second first kiss. From that day forward Jake has been hanging pictures, TVs, building shelves, and a bar in their basement. Also not letting her forget who said I love you first. Not that it Matters. And Debi has put up with Jake and no one knows why, or how but everyone is happy someone can put him in his place when he needs it.
Jake had the ring for 6 months but was never able to get Debi to agree to a long weekend trip. Finally in October of 2018, Debi agreed to go to Traverse City for the Fall Colors Tours. Jake told Debi to book a nice hotel but she did not listen and got a cheap deal on the internet. Jake had a hot air balloon booked for the special day however, on the ride up he received a phone call that it was cancelled due to windy weather. He had to improvise and come up with a second plan. The next morning the two went to breakfast were Debi insisted on paying (which is rare). The two then explored Traverse City and the Sandy Dunes. Jake was using the GoPro to take photos of the two all day. While on the dunes, he drives to plot the GoPro up to take a photo of the two of them. Debi then turned and was ready to leave; asking “are you ready to go?” When she turned back at Jake he was on one knee. The GoPro captured everything.
