Our favorite za in town!
Many date nights here. Highly recommend checking out their rooftop for happy hour and a view of the mountains.
The bride's favorite restaurant in CO- the best ramen, tacos, and signature cocktails.
We love going here on Saturday mornings in the summer. Closes at 1pm on Saturdays.
The best breakfast burritos in the state! Worth the drive especially after a morning hike through Golden Gate Canyon State park
If you go here, be sure to check out their cactus spirit!
Right across the street from our old apartment building, this place holds a special place in our heart.
If you've ever had the iconic nitro peanut butter stout, this is where it's made! The groom is also the reigning cornhole champion of this brewery.
The entrance to RMNP is only 45 minutes from the listed hotels! August is a very busy time of year for the park, and to help manage the crowds and reduce wait times at the entrance, they require timed permits for entry. These permits are free of charge. They also require you to purchase a day/weekend/annual national park pass for entry. We use an app called "AllTrails" that allows you to filter through hikes based on distance, elevation gain, and other options. The park entrance will also have maps of popular stopping points. Be prepared to see some wildlife!
Boulder is 10-15 min away and has lots of great hiking for all levels, a lovely downtown (Check out Pearl Street) with tons of shopping and restaurants. See further below for more recommendations on some hikes we love to do in this area.
Estes Park is the town you will pass through to get to Rocky Mountain National Park. It's home to the famous Stanley Hotel and is a very popular spot for Elk to gather in large herds all summer long. There is a huge lake in the middle of town that has a paved path going all the way around it which we recommend walking along to take in the 360 mountain views. Pretty touristy in the summer so plan ahead if you plan on visiting here
Fort Collins is only 45 minutes outside of Longmont. Horsetooth Reservoir is a very popular spot nearby which contains dozens of great hiking trails as well as water activities, like boating and jet skiing, that you can reserve online. The downtown is home to New Belgium brewery.
This county is where you will find many of the world famous ski towns like Breckenridge and Vail. It is just under a two hour drive from Longmont. If you are making a bigger trip out and have the time to make it out this way, we highly recommend!
Here lies about 4 different trails that are less than 15 minutes outside of Longmont. None are much longer than a few miles and do not have much gain in elevation along the route. The climate here somewhat resembles a desert and can get super hot once the early afternoon sun rolls in, so be prepared to have enough water on hand.
Chautauqua Park is a beautiful open space area at the very beginning of the foothills. You'll find plenty locals sitting out here on a blanket with friends or tossing a frisbee around. There are also dozens of trailheads nearby containing hikes of all different levels. Just past this park is Flagstaff Mountain, where you can drive your car all the way to the parking lot at the top and get out to take in views that stretch all the way from Boulder out past Denver. This is a very popular picnic spot with lots of tables, gazebos and benches spread all over.
This hike is a great hike to introduce you to what Colorado hiking is all about. The drive will take you most of the way to the top of the mountain. You'll see other cars parked alongside the road near the trailhead sign. Beware that the hike starts at around 10,500ft, so altitude sickness is something to be conscious of if you're not acclimated. From there, it is about 2.8 miles in total (1.4 miles to the top) and the elevation gain is 950ft in total. At the top you'll have 360 views of the surrounding mountains and valleys.
This is one of the most famous concert venues in the world, and all the shows we have been to here have lived up to the hype. Even if you aren't attending a show, they allow visitors to come park in their lots and walk around inside the venue during the day up until 2pm.
Local walk in Longmont with great views of Longs peak - 3.5 mile loop :)
