Our story

5-21-2011

Jake and I met in the summer of 2011 at Cody and Becca Mora’s wedding in Arroyo Grande, California. Our families had known each other long before that through High School Rodeo but with 7 years between us we had never actually met. After the Mora wedding, where Jake wooed me with his dance moves, we kept in contact despite the 10 hours between us. We started dating in May 2012 when Jake’s Mom Dina and friend Renee Jackson conjured up a plan for me to come out to Kneeland for a trail ride where I just “happened” to run into Jake and Ad Bugenig building fence. During that trip Jake took me out on our first date on 5/23/2012. For two and a half years we dated long distance while I went through dental hygiene school in Santa Rosa and Jake lived on the ranch in Kneeland. After graduating dental hygiene school in the summer of 2014 I moved up to the ranch and have lived here happily since. The ranch is where Jake and I have been building our lives together and we're excited to share this special place with our closest friends and family.

The Proposal

12-31-18

Jake and I took a trip to Mt. Bachelor for New Years and had been enjoying a few days of skiing (besides the wrong turn onto a black diamond). On our last day of skiing I asked Jake to meet me at this really pretty spot on the hill so we could take a picture together. As I'm trying to awkwardly position the phone for this selfie I notice Jake has unbuckled his skiis and is getting down on one knee. He proposed right then and there and it was the perfect moment. I love looking back at that selfie because in the picture he was digging around in his jacket trying to find the ring and I had no idea. <3
