We met the modern way: by swiping right on Bumble (so romantic!) in September of 2018. We went on our first date on a Wednesday night about a month after talking. We met at a small restaurant in Deep Ellum, and then went for dessert after dinner, because we just didn't want the night to end! I remember it was one of the first cold and rainy nights in October, but the sparkling conversation and good food made for a wonderful first date! It wasn't long before we wanted to see each other again, so we planned to see each other again that next weekend. Jake took me to the Texas State Fair where we shared a funnel cake and our mutual love of pizza! After a few more dates we realized how much had in common and loved spending time with each other. Days turned into weeks, weeks turned into months, and before we knew it we had spent years together and knew that we had found the person we wanted to spend the rest of our lives with! Three years later, now live under one roof with our two sweet puppies, Navi and Wilbur.

We had openly talked about marriage and getting engaged, so we knew this was something we both wanted. Covid had thrown a wrench in our plans and set us back, but when there's a will there's a way! Jake had devised a proposal plan under the pretenses of my two favorite things: pizza and dessert! I was under the idea we were going on a date at a pizza spot in downtown Plano, that we both wanted to try and then get dessert after. After dinner, we had some time before our dessert bar reservation and Jake had asked if we could go walk in the park he saw earlier. On that Saturday night, August 8th, Jake led me toward the gazebo at the edge of the park. Once we were at the gazebo, I saw hundreds of roses all different colors in vases, rose petals on the ground, and candles and pictures of us on a small table that my two best friends, Megan and Sarah had set up for him. At the top of the steps, Jake turned toward me, got down on one knee, and asked me to marry him and spend the rest of my life with him! We cannot wait to celebrate with you, our closest friends and family, on November 20, 2022!
