We met over spring break! Jake had moved down to St. George and I (Brea) came down there for spring break with a group of friends our senior year of High School. Our mutual friend invited him over and we immediately clicked. I sat by him while playing a card game but we laughed the whole time and could not take it seriously so we gave up and played pool instead. Still couldn't stop smiling the whole time. We later bonded over our similar taste in music and that became our main topic of conversation. We sent each other songs randomly over the summer, each of us trying to impress the other with new great finds. We had the exact same taste so finding music neither of us had heard was difficult. We never saw each other again that summer before Jake left on his mission but it was love at first sight in St. George and we both felt it. We both served full-time missions and would email occasionally but there were no conversations about dating. We would just talk about our different experiences, and our life as missionaries, and sometimes music. We reconnected once I got home from my mission and went on a date and it was that same immediate connection we had that first time in St. George. After that, we just kept going on dates and the rest is history! Now we are getting married in the place it all started and we could not be happier!
