Jake and Betsy were a year apart in school. When Jake was a senior, he attended one of Betsy's summer league soccer games and couldn't take his eyes off her. Being the suave gentleman he is, Jake decided to purchase and hand deliver a gatorade to Betsy at half time. Caught off guard yet pleasantly surprised, Betsy wondered what this kind gesture was all about.... After numerous texts exchanged, Jake decided to take Betsy on a date to the Wells Beach Lobster Pound. The two shared gigantic lobster rolls (prepared by Jake's best man Zach Moore) and enjoyed a drive along the beach. Later that evening, Jake and Betsy went back to the Andrews' house where Betsy's older sister Maddie was hosting a campfire with friends. Jake had to follow his curfew and be home by 9:30pm, so when it was time for him to leave, he proceeded to walk up onto the back deck with his mullet blowing in the wind and failed to notice the screen door was closed. Jake face planted into the door and Betsy attempted to hide her laughter. She knew at this moment that life would never be dull with him. Although Jake and Betsy eventually attended different colleges, the two stayed together and quickly realized that they were perfect matches for each other. Fast forward 7 years from their first date, on October 31st Jake asked Betsy to join him for a brisk walk on Footbridge Beach in Ogunquit. With much resistance due to the cold weather, Betsy finally agreed to go. Thankfully she made the right decision, otherwise Jake wouldn't have had anyone to propose to. Today, the two are enjoying their happy life together and are eagerly awaiting their wedding day where they can celebrate with family and friends.
