"'For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother [and be joined to his wife], and the two shall become one flesh.' So they are no longer two but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, no human being must separate." (Mark 10: 7-9) ~
(*This is the true version of the story. The words in all capital letters were later replaced to make a mad-lib game at Beth's bridal shower.) It was a WINTER night when Beth and Jake got engaged. It was just days away from CHRISTMAS when Jake POPPED the big question. Jake planned the entire night, which started around 3:00 PM. The first part of the evening was a concert to see THE TRANS-SIBERIAN ORCHESTRA. After the show, they hopped in a CAR on the way to dinner. They had the most FUN evening at IL VILAGGIO. Beth started to even suspect a certain question might pop up during the DINNER but right after they were finished eating, Jake said "alright, you ready to GO?" Beth replied saying "...okay." On their drive home, Jake asked if she would want to make a stop at ST. PATRICK'S CHURCH. Little did Beth know, that prior to their arrival to St. Patrick's Church, Jake had is friend, BRENDA, help him by setting up CANDLES all over the church, which was paired with the already existing CHRISTMAS decorations. Beth and Jake drove up to St. Patrick's Church and went inside. There was a trail of CANDLES that led them to the front of the altar of the church. It was then that Jake knelt down on one KNEE and asked, "Will you marry me?" Beth was moved to tears when she replied with, "Yes." Beth and Jake had both never been happier than in that moment. ~ Romantic story courtesy of Jake Simila
(*The words that are in all capital letters are the words that the bridal shower attendee filled in to the mad-lib to make a funny version of the story.) It was an BLUSTERY night when Beth and Jake got engaged. It was just days away from CHRISTMAS when Jake SCURRIED the big question. Jake planned the entire night, which started around MIDDAY. The first part of the evening was a concert to see THE BEATLES. After the show, they hopped in a LIMO on their way to dinner. They had the most GROUCHY evening at the OLIVE GARDEN. Beth started to even suspect a certain question might pop up during the BREAKFAST but right after they were finished eating, Jake said, "alright, you ready to EAT?" Beth replied saying, "... okay." On their drive home, Jake asked if she would want to make a stop at the PARK. Little did Beth know, that prior to their arrival to St. Patrick's Church, Jake had his friend, GEORGE, help him by setting up CHAIRS all over the church, which was paired with the already existing LEIF ERIKSON DAY decorations. Beth and Jake drove up to St. Patrick's Church and went inside. There was a trail of BUTTERFLIES that led them to the front of the altar of the church. It was then that Jake knelt down on one ARM and asked, "WHERE ARE YOU?" Beth was moved to tears when she replied with, "OUTSIDE." Beth and Jake had both never been happier than in that moment. ~ Anonymous
