Jake and Becca were introduced by mutual friends Jeff and Amy at a charity event in May 2018, but the story doesn’t start there. Nearly a year before, Becca’s friend Kristen told her about her fiancé’s cute and single friend who was moving to Scottsdale after living in San Diego for a few years after college. She didn’t think anything of it at the time but flash forward nine months later, Amy showed her a picture of Jake, and she realized it was the same Jake that Kristen had told her about. Jake had just moved to Scottsdale and was living with Jeff, who he’d met in college. Jake and Becca spoke briefly at the charity event, and Jake followed up with Amy a few days later to get Becca’s number. They went on their first date a few days later, which lasted over three hours! They’ve been inseparable ever since.
After quarantining for months, Jake and Becca took a little getaway to Sedona, Arizona, one of the places they took their first vacation together. Becca knew something was up when they checked into a beautiful suite at the Enchantment Resort, and it was clearly an upgraded room from the one they had booked back in February. The views were some of the most stunning on property, and it backed up right to the red rocks. After they got ready for dinner, Jake pretended to call a golf cart to take them down to the restaurant for dinner. Upon walking out of their room, Jake led Becca up a little trail, where there were rose petals scattered and champagne. He took her hands and started to speak, but forgot everything he had planned to say. Becca giggled until Jake finally got down on one knee and asked her to be his wife. SHE SAID YES, of course. A photographer was hiding behind the bushes and a group of people on a nearby balcony cheering them on! The rest of the weekend was magical; Jake planned an amazing dinner followed by a pool and spa day.
