Jacob and Elizabeth enjoyed their youth traveling the country for family and adventure. Jake, a well traveled military kid and true American boy, decided after college that he would go on to receive his Pre-law degree. While taking a break from school, Jake earned his private pilot license under his dad’s instruction. The pride they both felt in flying together was the final decision for Jake; to continue his flight training and one day work along side his old man. Ely is an Arizona desert child who grew up with far too many animals and dreams. After receiving her degree in Arts and closing her in-home child care, Ely went off to find adventure too. With a sudden chance to model, Ely and her dog Komos traveled the country for 5 years before finding themselves in Houston, TX for her private pilot license. The opportunity for continued flight training brought them both to Denton, TX where they would work together for a year before their story really began.

Jake: “I still remember the first time I saw Ely up at dispatch. All day long, my students kept coming in to my office saying how hot the new dispatcher was and I should go say hi. So eventually I go and I stick my head around the corner and there she was. I think I wasn’t feeling like my usual happy self that day and I thought to myself ‘man, I gotta make the right impression with this one’ so I snuck out the back door and planned to introduce myself next time.” Ely: “Of course the big guy with red hair and blue eyes caught my attention. But I’ve always had a hard rule against not dating coworkers, so I just made sure to always be professional when he was around. After a while, I took up his offer to go to a party with all of our coworkers. That night, this man would not leave my side and he hasn’t ever since.” We’ve spent the past few years exploring the U.S. with our boys, Komos and Auggie, and we’re excited to enter this next chapter with our family, friends, and faith on our side!
