Jake and Jenna met in Knoxville, TN where Jenna works as an RN and Jake is finishing his dissertation in Biomechanics at UT (GO VOLS). They both began their journey by matching on Hinge, a dating app! Their first date was on a late Sunday afternoon when Jake invited Jenna to an Escape Room. Jenna was cautious, thinking Jake was first testing her mental capabilities. They actually worked well as a team, laughing and enjoying their time locked in the submarine-themed escape room together. Surprisingly, they even escaped under the hour! To celebrate, they went to Suttree's in Downtown Knoxville, got coffee and chocolate from a nearby shop, then sat outside in Market Square chatting away about their lives, their goals, and what kind of attributes they desired in another. Before the evening even ended, Jake asked Jenna for another date just a few nights later. Jenna will tell you the second date was when she knew he was a keeper. Lockdowns for Covid were initiated that very week, and Jake took advantage of the situation to show off his desirable cooking skills, making her a honey-glazed salmon paired with a dry red wine. Since the beginning, Jake has continued to spoil Jenna with lots of foot rubs, dinner making, and home renovating. Jenna has encouraged Jake in his relationship with God, supported him while he finishes his PhD at UT (GO VOLS) and even finesse'd his favorite ice cream recipe.
