Question

When should I plan to arrive to SB?

Answer

We recommend arriving to Santa Barbara by Thursday evening so that you can rest, relax, and enjoy SB before the mylanchi and chandam charth begins on Friday night!

Question

Can I bring a plus one or kids not listed on my invitation?

Answer

Due to limited venue capacity, we can only accommodate guests specifically listed on your invitation at this time. Thank you in advance for understanding!

Question

What will the weather be like in Santa Barbara in November?

Answer

The weather in Santa Barbara is pleasant year-round -- usually 65-60 degrees during the day, and cooler at night. Our reception will be outdoors and near the ocean, so we recommend bringing a jacket or shawl to stay warm!

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

Friday: Indian/Western semi-formal. We would love for guests to wear shades of orange, yellow, pink, and red. Traditional Kerala attire (kasavu/set saree and mundus) encouraged! Please note that we are not doing specific colors for each side -- please wear any of the suggested colors that your heart desires (see mood board for inspiration)! Saturday: Indian/American formal attire. No white please! :)

Question

Will transportation be provided?

Answer

Mylanchi and Chandam Charth: There will also be a shuttle going back and forth between the Hilton and the Carrillo Ballroom throughout the evening, so guests staying there should plan to use the shuttle! There are several public parking lots near the venue, but we recommend ubering. Ceremony: There is ample parking at Holy Cross Catholic Church. Transportation to and from the wedding ceremony will be provided for those staying at the Hilton. Reception: There is ample parking at the Hilton.

Question

I've never been to an Indian Wedding! Where can I shop for clothes?

Answer

Here are some popular websites to check out if you'd like to wear South Asian clothing for the wedding: www.azafashions.com www.kalkifashion.com www.lashkaraa.com www.perniaspopupshop.com www.houseofindya.com If you're on the West Coast, head to Artesia, CA or Berkeley, CA for in-person shopping. If you're on the East Coast, check out Edison, NJ or Hicksville, LI. You can also reach out to Jaison and Amy and shop their closets :) Check out the "Boomie" or "Pickle" apps to rent Indian outfits as well!

Question

Should I change between the ceremony and reception?

Answer

There are only going to be two hours between the ceremony and reception, so no expectation to change! Most guests will be wearing the same outfit all day.

Question

Who should I reach out to with additional questions?

Answer

Please text Jaison or Amy!
