We’re getting married!

Our story began at a physical therapy office, where we were work colleagues and nothing more. That’s until one Valentine’s Day Lissette received an anonymous bouquet of red roses at work. Everyone at work was trying to figure out who sent them. Was it an employee? A patient? The guessing and wondering continued over a week and was the talk of the office. With no additional clue, Lissette was beginning to think she would never find out. That was until Jairo stayed at the office late one day and when everybody was gone he confessed it was him. He was the anonymous sender! Lissette was surprised and relieved to know it was Jairo and not a creepy patient. Jairo asked Lissette out on a date and she eagerly agreed. We went to Gonzalez and Gonzalez, a restaurant and salsa lounge. Our two favorite things to do, eat and dance. That was the night when Lissette started falling in love with her future husband.

Jairo originally wanted to propose to Lissette during a romantic weekend getaway in the Hudson Valley, but as fate may have it, a tribute to the singer Selena got in the way. Lissette, being the great friend that she is, did not want to cancel the plans she had made with her friends. With much frustration, Jairo had to make new plans for the proposal. Perhaps at sunset on a beautiful beach in Puerto Rico or maybe even on an exhilarating helicopter ride; but Lissette did want to go to the Caribbean and she questioned Jairo’s sanity at the idea of taking a helicopter tour. To Jairo’s surprise, she really wanted to go to Nashville. To not raise any suspicions, Jairo went along with the idea, even though he never imagined getting engaged in the country music capital. After some shrewd planning and a coordinated effort with the restaurant, Jairo proposed to Lissette during a beautiful dinner at Etch restaurant in downtown Nashville. When dessert arrived he handed his phone over to the waitress to record Jairo getting on one knee to pop the question, to which Lissette said yes!
