In August 2024, Jaimie was in Edinburgh celebrating her 31st birthday and visiting her friends Stanley, Allie, and Pat. On one of her last nights, she and Stanley stopped into Uno Mas in Leith for a quick nightcap. While attempting to figure out which unisex bathroom was meant for women, she accidentally, physically, bumped into a tall Scottish man. He smiled at her as she awkwardly tried to explain herself while apologizing. That was McKinley. Encouraged by a little nudge from Stanley and glowing reviews from the bartenders, she took her chance. She slid into his bar seat while he stepped outside, ordered a drink, and waited. They talked for hours that night, and from that day on, there hasn’t been a single day they haven’t spoken. By October, McKinley was visiting Boston. Saying goodbye was nearly impossible. On January 17, 2025, they were married at Boston City Hall. In September 2025, Jaimie officially moved to Scotland with her dog, Calvin.
