Her Story
Kellin was my first and only Tinder date. I originally had no intention of meeting up with anyone from an app because online dating in 2018 scared me. However, when he told me he taught statistics at the University of New Mexico, I figured that I could easily vet him with a quick google search. A RateMyProfessor.com profile? What better way to learn about someone's character than from anonymous reviews written by freshmen forced to take Stats101? His 4.9/5 stars and a red chili pepper convinced me to step out of my comfort zone, and that date became one of the best decisions I ever made. We were soon spending most of our time together. Kellin’s charm, passion and talent hooked me from the get go. He grounded me but encouraged my adventurous spirit. We built our relationship around our shared value of continued growth and became each other’s biggest cheerleaders through some of the most important milestones in our lives. The next 5 years flew by. My hobbies tripled. We built a community of friends. We raised a beautiful dog. We had dance parties on the sidewalk. He showed me the definition of pure and unconditional love. I realized I was the best version of myself around Kellin, and it became natural to envision the rest of our lives together.
His Story
One fateful day in February, Kellin and Jaimie matched on Tinder. Kellin opened with a Grasshopper joke... Jaimie responded with a Grasshopper fact. There were no crickets to be heard as the conversation flowed, and a date was scheduled. This was Jaimie's first (and last) Tinder date, as Kellin instantly knew that he had found a keeper. On their first date, they bonded over their shared ideals, common hobbies, and similar senses of humor. Kellin was captivated by Jaimies quirky humor, sharp intellect, and dazzling confidence and has been doing his best to keep up with this one-of-a-kind girl ever since. During the "Great Relationship Accelerator" of 2020 (a.k.a the Covid pandemic), Kellin and Jaimie spent practically all of their time together, and Kellin became increasingly convinced that he wanted to spend the rest of his life with this incredible woman. In 2022, Jaimie and Kellin moved to Chicago for Jaimie's training at Northwestern hospital, and Kellin started hatching his plan: he liked it... and he was gonna put a ring on it (Beyonce, 2008). Jaimie loves surprises, but a surprise engagement can be hard to plan after 4 and a half years together. Working closely with Jaimie's family and some of her closest friends, a surprise engagement was meticulously planned. Jaimie said "yes", marking one of the happiest days in Kellin's life, and the rest is history.
