On the 21st of August 2021, Jai left home to pick up her birthday cake. Steve, seeing the perfect opportunity to pop the question (a day earlier than he planned), rushed Roman and Amelia into the car and drove to the top of Mount sugarloaf. Steve tagged Jai in a post on Instagram, “meet us here soon” with a photo from the lookout. When Jai finally reached the top of the lookout, Steve was standing behind Roman and Amelia, holding a sign that read “will you marry us”. Roman and Amelia read the words, “will you marry us”. Between tears and catching her breath, Jai said “yes”.
