Question

What’s the best way to get around Barcelona?

Answer

Barcelona is a vibrant city with plenty of easy and affordable transportation options. Here are the best ways to get around: 1. Metro Fast, reliable, and inexpensive. The city’s metro system has 8 main lines and covers most neighborhoods and landmarks. Trains run from 5:00 AM to midnight (later on weekends). 2. Taxis & Rideshares Taxis are plentiful and easy to hail or book via apps like Free Now or Cabify. All official taxis are black and yellow with a meter. Uber is limited, but Cabify works similarly and is reliable. 3. Walking Barcelona is a very walkable city — especially in neighborhoods like Eixample, Gothic Quarter, and El Born. Many top sites are within short walking distance of each other.

Question

Will there be other events during the weekend?

Answer

Yes, there will be a welcome event on July 6th, and following the wedding on July 8th, we’ll be hosting a farewell gathering.

Question

Can I bring a plus one?

Answer

No, unless otherwise specified in your invitation.

Question

Are gifts expected?

Answer

We are so grateful to have our loved ones joining us in Spain to celebrate this special moment. We know that traveling such a distance is no small gesture, and your presence truly means the world to us—that alone is the greatest gift we could ask for. For those who still wish to give, we would be honored to receive contributions that we can put toward building our future together. If you’d prefer to give cash or Zelle, that’s warmly welcomed and deeply appreciated.

Question

What are the best areas in Barcelona?

Answer

Whether you're traveling solo, with friends, or bringing the whole crew, Barcelona has a neighborhood for everyone - all full of charm, easy access to sights, and great for soaking up the city's magic. 🌿 Eixample Elegant, walkable, and central — Eixample is perfect if you love wide boulevards, modernist architecture (hello, Gaudí!), and great restaurants. It’s also quieter at night, making it a solid choice for families or anyone wanting a good night's sleep. 🎨 El Born Trendy and artistic, El Born is where cobblestone streets meet cute cafés and boutiques. It’s close to the beach and Parc de la Ciutadella (perfect for kids to run around), and full of Barcelona vibes. 🌊 Barceloneta Beach lovers, this one’s for you! Stay here if you want to wake up near the sea and enjoy a more laid-back, sunny vibe. Great for families, couples, or anyone who likes the sound of waves with their morning coffee. 🏰 Gothic Quarter (Barri Gòtic) The heart of old Barcelona — winding alleys, hidden squares, and historic charm. It can be lively at night, but it’s a super fun area if you want to be in the middle of it all (and close to churros!). 🌺 Gràcia A boho, local-feeling neighborhood full of charm and little plazas. It’s quieter, artistic, and has a relaxed pace — great for families or guests who prefer something a bit more residential and off-the-beaten path.

Question

What’s the weather like in July?

Answer

Barcelona in July is sun-soaked and vibrant — the perfect backdrop for a summer celebration! Expect warm, sunny days with temperatures typically ranging from 75°F to 85°F (24°C to 29°C). Evenings are pleasantly mild, perfect for dining outdoors. Rain is rare this time of year, so light, breathable clothing, sunglasses, and sunscreen are your best friends. And don’t forget your swimsuit — beach days are very much encouraged!

Question

Can I use my phone in Spain?

Answer

Check with your provider about international plans. Many guests choose to use eSIMs or local SIM cards, or just rely on Wi-Fi (which is widely available in hotels and cafes).

Question

Are there any travel essentials I should bring for Europe?

Answer

Power adapter: Spain uses the Type C or Type F plug with a standard voltage of 230V. If you're coming from the U.S., you'll need a European plug adapter. A universal adapter is even better if you plan to travel more. Portable charger: Great for long days exploring the city or taking lots of photos. Comfortable walking shoes: Trust us—Barcelona’s cobblestone streets and hills are no joke! Copy of your passport: Keep a digital or paper copy somewhere safe, just in case. Credit cards and a little cash: Most places accept cards, but it’s good to have a small amount of euros on hand for taxis or smaller shops.

Question

Where will the bride and groom be staying?

Answer

Our bride and groom will be staying at the Almanac Barcelona Hotel in the beautiful Eixample neighborhood, just steps from Passeig de Gràcia. We would love for you to join them at the same hotel, but we completely understand that everyone has different preferences and budgets—please feel free to choose the accommodations that are most comfortable for you.

Question

Do you recommend any other hotels?

Answer

Yes! In addition to our main hotel, we’re happy to share a couple of wonderful alternatives: Some of our family will be staying at ICON BCN, a small but cozy boutique-style hotel located just a 5-minute walk from the bride and groom’s hotel and close to many great restaurants and shops. The bride and groom also stayed at the SLS Barcelona and absolutely loved it. It’s a stunning property with a great atmosphere; however, it is located about 30 minutes outside the city center. Please keep in mind that traffic in Barcelona can be unpredictable, which may increase travel time. Transportation to and from the city typically requires a taxi or Uber, costing approximately $35–$50 per ride, depending on traffic and timing.
