Just across the street from the Spring Hill Suites is a great marketplace with John's favorite coffee (The Roasterie), various pop-up shops with T-shirts, flowers, etc., yummy Japanese, pizza/salad, and ice cream to name a few! It's a great atmosphere! Be sure to head up to the second floor and check out the art in the City Center lobby:)
Right across the street from the hotel, this outdoor farmer's market is a great way to try out some of the local goods before the wedding! Saturdays from 8am-12noon.
Jaime's second home (where she is a substitute WERQ Dance Fitness Instructor)! The 100,000-square-foot Lenexa Rec Center features cutting-edge fitness equipment, a fun-filled indoor pool (really 5 pools and 2 water slides), a jogging/walking track that encompasses a full-service fitness floor and two gyms for open play. Hours: Monday–Friday: 5 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday: 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. (Pool area closes 30 minutes before building closes) Day passes are available! Kid Zone child watch is available in the mornings too!
Just a short walk/ drive from the hotel, it's a good place to enjoy a burger! We like the patio!
One of our favorite places, beautiful lake, dog park, and voted the #1 most visited park in Kansas!
Great natural foods grocery store/ farmer's market!
Another great coffee place, with a good vibe!
So it's not Philly pizza, but the East Coasters will like it! Be sure to only order one slice - they're as big as your face!!
John took Jaime here on their first date...it's pricey, but totally delicious!
John took me here on one of my first trips to Kansas and we had a blast! It's great for younger kids too! There are more than 250 animals and birds, an Indian encampment, a one-room country schoolhouse and a turn-of-the-century main street.
2018 marked the 100th year since WWI ended - be sure to check out this one-of-a-kind memorial!
Since our wedding Mass doesn't fulfill the Sunday obligation, here's a great Catholic Church close by! There is also 24/7 adoration - just send us a message if you're interested & we'll be sure to give you the details.
Where John entered the Catholic Church in 2003 - it's one of our favorite places to go to Mass!
