The Poe Museum began over a century ago when an Edgar Allan Poe collector and researcher named James Howard Whitty and a group of literary enthusiasts met in Poe’s hometown of Richmond, Virginia to create the state’s first monument to a writer. Wander through the museum to learn more about Poe's life and while you are there check out the garden in the back.
The VMFA has a fantastic permanent collection and a revolving door of great exhibits, not to mention the sculpture garden. There is also a tea room and a couple of nice restaurants on the grounds.

Andrew’s favorite book store and a Carytown staple. Be sure to check out their collection of new, and used books, and books by local and national authors. Make sure to check up the upstairs too, and say 'Hi" to Page and Mylar as well.
A new kid on the block, Daystar is an arcade and tabletop gaming spot in Scotts Addition. They have classic arcade and table top games along with a retail space to grab great memorabilia and cartridges for your at home consoles.
