We first met in the fall of 2020, during Thiago’s freshman year and Jai’s sophomore year of college, while attending a meeting at the Latino Student Union. For the next few months we would exchange pleasantries, and maybe a joke and a smile here and there. Our first time really hanging out was a mini golf game (which Jai won) with a group of friends. From then on our communication grew, and we started to study together, go out for food, and finding any excuse to be around each other. Finally, on January 7th, 2021, we made it official and started dating. We dated all throughout the remaining college years, making memories like staring in a Mosaic Night production of In The Heights (you had to be there), getting stranded on the side of the road as our bus broke down (you really had to be there), and laying in the grass dramatically while being filmed for a friend’s project (don’t even ask). We got engaged on November 30th, 2024 at the most romantic place in the world, the Indianapolis Zoo. We’ve made it through 2+ years of long distance, nursing school, 3 bachelor’s and 1 master’s degree, good tears and bad. We couldn’t have done it without the love and support of our family and friends and we’re so excited to share this day with you.
