Dontae and Jaiden met very briefly when they were both brought as guests to a pool club in the summer when Jaiden was 15 and Dontae was 17. It was just a quick "Hi and Bye", and Dontae went to go play basketball with his friend Eddie, while Jaiden swam in the pool with her friend, and Eddies younger sister, Grace. Four years later in 2019, while they were both attending college at Albertus Magnus in their Child Developmental Psychology class, Jaiden noticed Dontae sitting directly across from her but she could not figure out how she knew him. A few days later they were randomly put in a group together in class when Jaiden finally remembered where she had seen him before (after thinking about it constantly for days). She told him she remembers meeting him while they were at the pool club and they began talking about their mutual friends. After that first conversation, they were always together. From getting Starbucks after class and sitting outside on the patio talking for hours when it was warm out, to laughing until the sun went down in Dontae's old Four Runner when it got cold, they became inseparable. After months of being together every day between movie dates, mini golf dates, and ice cream dates, he finally decided to ask her to be his girlfriend on December 6th, 2019 by writing "Let's make this official" on an ornament for her, because he knew how much she liked Christmastime. And...the rest is history!
