How We Met

First Comes School...

"We met during our Junior year of high school. I was trying to catch up on a full semester of engineering and I needed help with some of my paperwork. Naturally, I talked to the 'smartest' student and tried to have him help me with my homework. After long nights studying and learning about each other, we both felt like this was not just a friend helping a friend anymore." "I wanted to be a good person and help out this new student, but, after learning that her taste in music wasn't terrible and that she had a great sense of humor, I knew I wanted to spend more time with her." "After about a month of us 'hanging out' Brock finally asked me, 'What do you think about us going out?'" "Which J replied with by saying, 'That's fine.'" "Brock then asked for my dad's permission to date me and my dad was ecstatic." "We started dating on March 21st, 2014." "And we can't wait to spend the rest of our lives together."

The Proposal

Then Comes Marriage!

"Jai-Lynn lived in Dayton for about 2 years for college." "And Brock, more or less, came and visited me almost every weekend." "So we actually started to go to events, find some good local food places, and make memories at places there." "We loved to go to 2nd and Charles, Bills doughnuts, The Greene, and Cox Arboretum for a short hike. " "For my birthday I told Jai that I wanted to go back to Dayton just to spend a day together" "He built it up really good too, he said he wanted to go to our favorite doughnut place, and he knows I can't pass up a good Bill's Doughnut." "So we walked around, went to some of our favorites places and even went shopping for some things that we actually needed around the apartment. Just to throw her off a little if she suspected it." "We finally ended up going to Cox Arboretum and started to walk around. And there was always a beautiful archway that stood in the middle of the park and an aisle that went right up to it." "I suggested that we go up to it and take a look at it, since they replaced the old one since we have been there." "As we were walking up, I saw my friend and said, 'Is that Hailey?!'" "And as she turned around, I was down on my knee and ready to ask her to marry me."
