It is safe to say that Nicole and Rob did not cross paths while they were in High School together. Nicole was a freshman and Rob was a senior, both played soccer and did track. Nicole first noticed Rob when she was a freshman on the track team. Her friend, Liz, pointed him out to her at track practice one day. Liz and Rob were both in band class (Rob played the trumpet). That conversation had some comments on how Rob was cute but then it ended.
A year or so later, Nicole's other friend, Rebecca, started dating a guy named Dave. Dave had a best friend named Rob. Nicole started coming around to functions with Dave's friends which eventually turned into our "J-Town Crew". Rebecca and Dave set up a double date for them, and things went on for a little bit. Nicole and Rob would often see each other at these gatherings since their friend group started to become the same group of friends. However, for Rob and Nicole, it was not the right time or place.
Nicole and Rob both went to college in separate states and talked on and off. They would always touch base on college breaks since they had their "J-town Crew" who were and continue too always be down for something fun! This group of friends now are near and dear to our hearts (they all know who they are). This lasted for a year or so. In January 2013, before going back to school from winter break they decided to make it official. They were finally at the right time and place. From that moment on, they never looked back.
Rob and Nicole took a vacation to Ireland with one of Rob's college roommates (whose family is from Ireland) and his fiance. Rob had the ring in his backpack the entire time. Rob said every day he thought about where the perfect location would be to do it, he didn't have an exact plan of where he would do it. He picked day 4 of the trip to do it on top of Croagh Patrick Mountain which totally made the hike up the mountain worth it, plus the gorgeous view. It only makes sense since Rob proposed at the top of a mountain, to get married on the mountain top.
