This is my (Jahmilah’s) one and only sister, Joya Rodgers. She is a woman of many gifts and has shared this life with me. She has taught me so much and still does. She’s wise and hilarious. When she loves you, then you have hit the Jack pot of life. She is one of my maids of honor that God blessed me with from birth. As I enter into this new chapter of my journey, Joya will be (and always has been) a huge support. I could not imagine standing at the altar without her.

JPR+JNR=BFF! Introducing my best friend, Jatoya! My other maid of honor. Our friendship has stood the test of time. From middle school and through the years, Jatoya (also known as Toya) has been a reliable friend and chosen family. Our friendship has grown into two mature women who love our families and enjoy a nice cup of coffee and girl chat! She’s taught me a lot on the importance and beauty of long lasting relationships and love.

My big brother is a man who always seems to have many friends or be the coolest guy I know till this day taking on life’s adventurer. If it wasn’t for him giving me advice in life and love, I don’t think I will be here right now with my soon to be wife without his support. Truly fulfilling his big brother role.

Jay and my family knew each other while we lived over seas as air force military children. I didn’t know him personally till we moved to North Carolina. One day, Jay’s family came over to our family’s home for a cook out, and that’s when I met Jay. He stole a chicken wing from my plate. I was levied at first. But 16 years later and he still one of my best friend. He is head strong and passionate when it comes to people and their rights especially his friend’s.

When I was worked at Amazon, that is where I met Jabari. I was putting together a game night trying to make new friends. Fast forward a year later, he was my first roommate. We would have parties and celebrate the good times. He will always do his best to understand you if something is wrong with you in your time of need.
