Landmark Christian School is where it all began. Even though their schedules didn’t always align, Jahannah and Cassius were inseparable. If you saw one, you saw the other. They weren’t just high school sweethearts—they were each other’s best friends. When one would say, “Let’s,” the other would say, “Go,” without hesitation. At the time, people might have brushed it off as young love, but nearly a decade later, time would prove it was true love all along. Their love story continued into college, with Cassius attending Morehouse during his sophomore year and Jahannah beginning her freshman year at Spelman. It wasn’t planned, but fate had its own ideas. As they navigated the challenges of college life, the distance eventually separated them for years. Despite the heartbreak of their breakup, there was no hate or animosity. They loosely stayed connected through social media. In late 2022, they unexpectedly reconnected at a mutual friend's house. However, it would take another four months before they initiated another point of contact. Over time, they exchanged light-hearted messages, soon realizing that they lived less than five miles apart. After learning that Cassius had recently relocated to the area after finishing law school, Jahannah decided to meet up for a drink—something they had never done as adults. One evening, after Jahannah had dinner with a friend, she called Cassius to see if he was free. He was home, but surprisingly, he had recently moved into her grandmother’s neighborhood, the same one where they had shared Thanksgiving dinners back in high school. On December 14, 2022, Jahannah and Cassius met up and quickly realized that there was no awkwardness, no initial discomfort. It felt like two best friends reconnecting after a long time apart. From that moment on, Jahannah knew Cassius would be a permanent part of her life. What she didn’t know was in what capacity. The next nine days were spent together, during which they even planned a trip to Cancun. Jahannah didn’t realize it at the time, but on December 22, Cassius took her out on their first official date at Ponce City Market. On February 26, 2023, after an incredibly romantic day at Château Élan, Cassius officially asked Jahannah to be his girlfriend. Months later, after unofficially moving in with Cassius, Jahannah sold her condo, and the two began building a home together. Over the course of the next several months, it became clear that while they had gone through different life experiences during their years apart, their love remained as strong as ever. On March 9, 2024, in the same location where they had their first date, Cassius took Jahannah’s hand and proposed at Ponce City Market’s rooftop.
