Ally and I met for the first time at West Oak Coffee on the Denton square. Right away, I could tell she was everything I wanted in a partner, and that I could see ourselves together for many years. We bounced around from the coffee bar, to a real bar, then to Beth Marie’s for some ice cream, where we promptly swapped flavors after we both liked each other’s better. We spent seven hours together on our first date, getting to know one another and just beginning to realize how lucky we were to find each other. The next day, we went camping (against the wishes of all people we know), and a couple of months after that, we camped in Trinidad, Colorado where after a brief thunderstorm that blew away our tent, Ally and I became boyfriend and girlfriend. We spent our college years in Denton attending The University of North Texas, learning about each other, spending time with cherished friends, and supporting each other as we both navigated our senior years. We became closer and closer as time went on, and our relationship really blossomed when we didn’t have a 20 mile stretch of highway 380 separating us. Since our college days we’ve both navigated professional life together, and we’ve lived together since Ally graduated college in 2023. We got our first place together in Carrollton, just north of Dallas, and I quickly realized how great of a decision we made to live together. Ally makes me the best version of myself. She cares about people more than anyone I know, and has an impressive work ethic and drive. Choosing a partner like Ally who embodies those qualities so strongly has inspired me to be a better man (and future husband). We love beginning and ending each day together and spending our free time together as often as possible. Whether it’s taking Bobo to Horseshoe Trail, spending a weekend road tripping South or East to visit family, or finding a State Park somewhere near a river we can cool off in, Ally and I are always on the move and trying to make the most of the time we have together. Well, after four years of dating and falling deeply in love with each other, I proposed to Ally on the 4th of July in Jamaica Beach, TX at proposal point off Bob Smith Dr. Go check it out sometime, it’s beautiful! It was perfect. Just the two of us… and Bobo… and Kylie stalking us from afar to catch a snapshot of the action. We celebrated with Ally’s family watching fireworks in the bay, and had the meal of our lives at Katie’s Seafood House in Galveston. I don’t think we had ever felt as happy as we did that weekend. Flash forward a few months and a few wedding ideas later, here we are! We are honored to host the friends and family who have been such an important part of our lives at our wedding. We can’t wait to see everyone there and most importantly to celebrate with all of you!
