Ryan and Callie met in the fanny pack making line at Stagecoach, surrounded by cowboy boots, sunscreen, and the subtle panic of festival porta-potties. Ryan spotted Callie and was instantly smitten—but too nervous to ask for her number. Luckily, Callie was not about to let a good backwards hat and nervous energy go to waste, so she made the first move. (Shoutout to assertive women and country music-induced confidence!) Fun fact: Callie’s parents also met in line—at the all star baseball game. Apparently, the “queue to cutie” pipeline runs in the family. For our first date, we went somewhere extra romantic: the 99 Cent Store. The challenge? Pick out items you think the other person might like. Honestly, if that doesn't scream “meant to be,” what does? After bonding over questionable snack choices and glittery decor, we headed to Sunset Cliffs to watch the sunset. It was beautiful... until a rat decided to crash the date. We took that as a sign from the universe that it was time to go home (and maybe not picnic in cliffside bushes ever again). From that day forward, we've been inseparable—minus when Ryan locks himself in the room to play video games. And now, we're so excited to continue this adventure together (with slightly fewer rodents, we hope).
