Fast forward to 2018, when she and her best friend started pioneering and needed a late-evening street work partner. That’s when her best friend introduced us again. She paid attention this time—and we’ve been friends ever since. The rest, as they say, is history!

It all began with an innocent invite to an all-white yacht event. We played games, ate, took pictures, and I decided to take a midday nap. Just as I was getting comfortable, I was called back for a game—blindfolded, I had to use tongs to pick up cotton balls and place them into a bowl, thinking it was harmless enough. But when I took off the blindfold, I saw him down on one knee. At first, I was so confused that I thought he needed the blindfold, so I tried handing it to him and walking away! He held onto my hand, though, and that’s when it clicked—he was proposing! It was the most unexpected yet perfect surprise.
