How We Met

First Comes School, Then Comes Marriage....

Jaeron and I met in 2013 when when we were 14 years old. We were both in the musical Pirates of Penzance and were partnered together BUT the director ended up having us switch partners. That summer we became friends, then more than friends... but it was only a summer fling. We tried to remain friends afterwards but our friendship grew to be toxic and Jaeron had the good sense to end it. We reconnected in 2017 shortly before we graduated when a mutual friend (my bridesmaid, Erin) convinced us both to audition for the last school play with her. The cast list went up and to our shared horror, we had both gotten in and she had not! We had a few heart-to-hearts backstage and our friendship rekindled. After we graduated we dated for three and a half years while we experienced some of what the "real world" had in store for us. There were good times and bad times but we could always count on each other to be an enthusiastic supporter or a shoulder to cry on.

The Proposal

06.09.2020

Jaeron's plan for his birthday was to go to breakfast, then hike, then go the zoo, and end the day with dinner at a nice restaurant. When we met for breakfast that morning he seemed giddy, but I thought it was just because it was his birthday! Little did I know what he had in store for me.... We hiked from the Summit trail head to the top of Primrose Peak. When we reached the top the trail curved to the left and went over a crest before reaching the edge of the peak. When we reached the top of the crest I could see that there was a heart made of rose petals at the end of the trail. In that moment I realized what was happening and was totally surprised! Jaeron led me to the middle of the heart and asked me to marry him and of course I said yes. It was the most beautiful and perfect place for him to propose. We spent the rest of the day celebrating his birthday and enjoying the thrill of being newly engaged.
